PLC Article: Five Dysfunctions of a Professional Learning Community
This week, I chose to select a quality article on PLC's.
Weber, S. (2011, October 26). Five Dysfunctions of a Professional Learning Community. Retrieved February 08, 2017, from http://www.wholechildeducation.org/blog/five-dysfunctions-of-a-professional-learning-community

I think that this article is a quality resource because it is written by Steven Weber, who "is a former classroom teacher, assistant principal, and state Department of Education consultant in Arkansas and North Carolina and currently the principal of Hillsborough (N.C.) Elementary School."He certainly seems to have a lot of experience in the classroom and managing what goes on in schools between the faculty. This article, as you may have guessed from the title, reveals five dysfunctions of a PLC. Here in the article, Weber exposes the most common mistakes teachers make in a PLC. This is very important to be aware of because I am sure these teachers who were doing these things probably did not see the flaws in their PLC. Sometimes being aware of what not to do helps you do things better. In addition, Weber not only addresses common problems within PLC's but he offers links to articles and websites that offer solutions to these problems.

Sarah, I love that you found an article from a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and state department of education consultant... This is an excellent source to learn about PLC's. I think PLC's are a great thing and I like how this article does mention that there are mistakes sometimes made in these PLC's... nothing is perfect. I also enjoyed going through some of the other articles and websites listed that Weber gave us about solutions to solve the problems in the PLC's that occur sometimes.
